The Ottawa Sandusky Seneca Solid Waste District (OSS) is hosting two summer collection events to help residents responsibly recycle bulky and hard-to- dispose-of items: appliances and tires. These special collections are available to all residents of Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca counties — including those in Bellevue and Fostoria.

These programs help reduce illegal dumping, keep harmful materials out of local landfills, and provide a convenient disposal option for materials that can't go in curbside bins. Registration is required by June 26 for both events.

Appliance Collection
Residents can safely recycle large household items that are primarily made of metal, including:
• Refrigerators (must be emptied of food)
• Air conditioners
• Dehumidifiers
• Dishwashers
• Lawn mowers
Not accepted: Items mostly made of plastic, such as vacuum cleaners and plastic fans.

Registration deadline: June 26
More details and registration: RecycleOSS.org/appliance-collection

Tire Collection
Properly dispose of old, unwanted tires through this low-cost recycling program.
Fees apply and must be paid at the time of drop-off — cash or check only. No card reader will be available at the collection site.

Fees:
• $1 per residential tire
• $3 per racing tire

Participants must report how many tires they will bring at the time of registration.
Farmers: Special collection for implement tires are available — contact Jim Darr at 419-334-7222 ext. 2 or [email protected].
