Thacker to Be Sworn in at Next Council Meeting
During a meeting Tuesday evening, members of the Seneca County Democratic Central Committee voted to accept the nomination of Cheyane Thacker to serve the open At-Large Councilmember seat. Thacker is to be sworn into office at the next scheduled Tiffin City Council meeting.
Thacker grew up in Tiffin and attended Columbian High School. She works as a legal assistant at Lange Gordon Rannigan & Claus LLC and previously had worked at various businesses in Downtown Tiffin. Thacker ran for the At-Large Council seat in 2021.
Thacker is on the Ritz Players Board and is a founding member of Seneca Proud, the local LGBTQIA+ group. She currently serves on the Ritz Theatre Marketing Committee, on the City of Tiffin Planning Commission.
“I want to make everyone proud and I’m excited for this opportunity to be involved and serve the citizens of the City of Tiffin,” Thacker said.
Because the term has more than two years remaining, Thacker said she intends to run for office again in the 2023 Municipal Election.
