Some roads will be closed starting Monday

TIFFIN, Ohio – March 2, 2023 – Beginning today, multiple utility projects will be occurring in the City of Tiffin involving the closure of some city streets. Some of the work being done is in preparation for larger projects that begin this summer.

A contractor for Aqua has started work on North Sandusky Street in preparation for a water line project on Grand and Huss Street. North Sandusky Street near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Huss Street will be restricted to one lane of travel, with traffic to be maintained with flaggers. Lane restrictions may continue through the week of March 6.

Additionally, a contractor for Columbia Gas will be preforming scoping work at the intersection of Sandusky Street and Clay Street from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday. Traffic on Sandusky Street will be limited to a single lane, with flaggers and a Tiffin Police Officer on site to help direct traffic, and Clay Street will be closed from Jackson Street to Franklin Street to cut down on congestion. The closure is expected to only last one day.

Residents are also reminded that beginning Monday and continuing through Friday, March 10, Ella Street will be fully closed from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. between Ella Street and Shepherd Drive. The closure has been restricted to avoid drop-off and pick-up times for students at Tiffin Middle School. Work may continue throughout the next few weeks.
