Course Description

This is a basic level course is designed for law enforcement and corrections officers who wish to work with a crisis / hostage negotiations team. The course will focus on the art of communication, working with individuals with mental illness, and train officers to effectively function as part of a negotiations team. The course has been approved for 2024 OPOTA continuing professional training in Responding to Mental Health (2 Hours), Crisis Mitigation (2 Hours), and General Hours (16 hours). Attendees are encouraged to bring their team’s negotiations equipment on the 3rd and 4th day of training.

Cost

The course cost is $250.00. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
